What’s Happening in the Florida Keys provides business value1 to our marketing partners2 by leveraging our well-curated3, well moderated, authentic audience comprising a large following4 and even larger community member-base5 with a proven interest6 in the Florida Keys.
Thank you for your interest in joining What’s Happening in the Florida Keys as one of our Marketing Partners! Since 2018 we’ve been helping businesses like yours reach their target audience. Join us as we leverage our large, genuine, and highly targeted following on social media to provide a more captive and engaged audience for you, our Marketing Partners!
Our Marketing Partnership is quite simple: we make promotional posts for your business on our What’s Happening in the Florida Keys Facebook page and Instagram twice per month. We also share these posts into our three Florida Keys Facebook groups. As an added bonus, we invite you to join and post in our three large Florida Keys Facebook groups (comprising over members total) to engage directly with your potential customers as your business page up to 7 posts per week (no more than once per day) in your “home group” and three times per week in our other keys groups. (posting from a business account versus a personal account lends more credibility to the interaction and offers a direct line of communication for the customer) Utilized effectively this works out to be 674 unique and engaging “ads” for your business per year, plus our promotional posting, for only $125/month.
$125/MONTH
What’s the value here? Typically for our Marketing Partners just one extra
cover/table/guest/customer/trip per month will pay for this.
As long as your membership is current and ongoing you will not see a price increase*.
You will also benefit from all future marketing opportunities that are created.

We’re thrilled to have worked with so many wonderful businesses, both past and present, and look forward to working with yours.
We keep our groups private because it gives us the opportunity to vet all member requests. This drastically cuts down on the number of spammers, scammers, and irrelevant businesses and ensures a more engaged audience. A closed community is a better place for all members and we work to moderate the tone of the discussion to reduce the negativity that is rampant on social media.
There are many groups that impose zero limits on advertising and it shows. There can be hundreds of business posts clogging the feed and your posts will get pushed out of the way and not be seen by the people that matter. By limiting the number of business posts in our groups we are keeping our marketing partners’ posts visible and relevant to our members.
By allowing only our marketing partners to join and post in our groups as their business page we are reserving exclusive space for you in our groups—no fighting for the attention of your customers. Members can engage directly with your business page and have a direct line of communication with your business.
Businesses need to remain relevant and front-of-mind if they are to be recognized and remembered. We work to maintain a roughly 1:1 ratio of business:member posting in our groups to keep the group feed tidy and easily navigable. This leaves a lot of room for our members to post questions or ask for recommendations. This number fluctuates from week to week and also from group to group, but the ratio of member posts to business posts is almost always in favor of member posts. One only need look around at other groups to see the over-saturation that occurs when there are too many businesses posting in a group.
From the beginning (2018) we have worked exclusively with local businesses that cater primarily to visitors. Most of our Marketing Partners, past and present, are tourism driven but we will work with all sorts of local businesses. We are not opposed to working with out-of-town businesses that could be beneficial for the local community and visitors but we have always taken a community-first approach and will always put local businesses ahead of businesses that do not operate in the Florida Keys.
For starters, all of our groups are private communities. Simply put, this means that not just anybody can join and post in our groups. Being able to review every member request reduces the number of spammers and scammers that our members are exposed to to practically zero. Even allowing these members in the group without them posting is a hazard as they can see the entire membership and directly message other members to initiate scams. There are other groups with literally thousands of fake/scam/spam profiles. Though big member numbers may look impressive, the quality of the members suffers greatly at that scale in a public group. We run the largest, cleanest, and most welcoming groups; an excellent place for your business to interact with your potential customers.
Nope. Not at all. We offer pay-as-you-go marketing. The only agreement that we extend to our Marketing Partners is as long as your membership is active and up to date you will not see a price increase*. We understand that tourism fluctuates throughout the year and not everyone wants to keep their marketing budget tied up in the off season. We allow our marketing partners to come and go as they please throughout the year, though most keep their partnership going the whole year.
